01What it is
Đó Theatre stands in the Bãi Tiên area in the north of the city, in Bắc Nha Trang ward. The building is woven in the shape of a đó — a traditional bamboo fish trap; the theatre calls it the largest of its kind in the country. The main production is Rối Mơ, Life Puppets Show: according to the theatre, it combines water puppetry, marionettes, animated puppets and contemporary dance, accompanied by traditional instruments. The show needs no knowledge of the language.
02How to plan your visit
Tickets are sold through the theatre's official booking system, which also shows the performance schedule. The road from the centre runs north along the sea past the Hòn Chồng headland, so allow time and book your return taxi in advance: after the show there are fewer cars at the exit than people wanting to leave. Arrive half an hour early to look at the building from outside in its evening lighting. It is a strong option for a rainy evening and for a trip with school-age children.
03What to check
Performance days, start times and prices by seating category are on booking.dotheatre.vn: they are not on the site's home page, and we don't quote them. Ask about age restrictions and the photography rules. On days with private events the regular show may be cancelled.
Before you goChoose seats in the middle of the hall: the water stage is wide, and from the side seats you miss part of the action.
Access, opening hours and prices can change. Confirm the conditions right before you pay or leave.
