01What it is
Đảo Khỉ, also called Hòn Lao, is part of the Long Phú company's eco-tourism complex in the Nha Phu lagoon. The operator writes of more than 1200 monkeys living on the island in a natural environment; the national tourism portal also speaks of more than a thousand primates. Besides walking among the monkeys, the island has a beach and shows with animals. The Long Phú pier is about 15 kilometres north of the city, and the crossing is by speedboat.
02How to plan your visit
The easiest option is the operator's own day tour: a hotel pick-up in the morning, the boat, the Hoa Lan orchid island, then Đảo Khỉ, lunch and a return to the mainland by the middle of the day. Independent visitors take a taxi to the pier and buy tickets at the ticket office. Keep your distance from the monkeys, don't carry food in your hands or in open bags, take off shiny jewellery and hold on to your glasses. Explain to children in advance that these are wild animals.
03What to check
On 21.09.2026 the operator's website priced the day tour with transfer, boat, entry tickets and lunch at 670,000 VND per adult and 480,000 per child 1–1.4 metres tall (unchanged when re-checked on 22.09.2026). If circus acts with animals are not for you, check the programme and skip the show — you can walk around the island without it.
Before you goDon't hand-feed or tease the monkeys: bites and scratches are the most common trouble on the island.
