01What it is
The provincial tourism portal counts Suối Đổ among the main spiritual sites around Nha Trang. The pagoda stands on a slope in the former Diên Toàn commune of Diên Khánh district, next to the stream that gave it its name. A staircase of more than a hundred steps leads up. Pilgrims from the city and neighbouring districts come mainly in the first lunar month: the portal names the 8th, 18th and 28th days as festival days.
02How to plan your visit
The trip takes half a day including the drive. From the city you go west by taxi or motorbike; at the foot you leave the vehicle and climb on foot. The climb needs no training but is tiring in the heat — bring water and go in the morning. At the top are the temple courtyard, statues and a view over the Diên Khánh plain. Am Chúa temple lies in the same direction, so the two are easy to combine in one trip.
03What to check
There are no official hours or transport details — come during daylight and agree with the driver that they will wait. On the festival days of the first lunar month the pagoda is very crowded; the rest of the time it is almost empty. Wear clothes that cover shoulders and knees, and take off your shoes at the halls.
Before you goAfter rain the steps are slippery — hold the handrail and take your time going down.
