Ten kilometres of sand
The provincial portal describes the shore as gently sloping, with clear water and fine white sand. There is more space here than on any city beach.

Bãi Dài is not a city district but a long strip of beach on the Cam Ranh peninsula, in the former Cam Lâm district. Resort hotels line it, the airport is close, and Nha Trang is 45–60 minutes away by highway. It is the choice for those who want the sea and a hotel, with the city optional.

Life on Bãi Dài is concentrated inside the resorts: pools, restaurants, kids' clubs, a private stretch of beach. Between the hotels there are public accesses to the sea with shelters and simple cafés, where city residents come at weekends. There is no village with streets to stroll — only the highway, dunes and the sea.
A swim at dawn, breakfast, the pool, lunch, the sea again — a typical day needs no transport. People go into the city once or twice per trip: the Po Nagar towers, the market, dinner on the seafront. Island tours also start from the city, so add the ride to the pier and back to their price.
Without a taxi or rented transport you are tied to the hotel and its prices. The shore faces the open sea, so in autumn and winter the waves are stronger than in the sheltered city bay, and swimming may be restricted. In the rainy season, from mid-September to mid-December, there is almost nothing to do outside the hotel.
Cam Lâm district was abolished as an administrative unit together with the whole district level, and the airport is now registered under Bắc Cam Ranh ward. We have not confirmed the new commune names along Bãi Dài from official sources. Bookings show old addresses with Cam Lâm and Cam Hải Đông — go by the hotel name and its point on the map.
Before you go
Ask the hotel whether there is a shuttle to the city and what it costs.
Check the distance from the hotel to your flight's terminal on the map.
In autumn, ask how often the beach is closed to swimming because of waves.
If you want to see Nha Trang, split the trip: some nights here, some in the city.
Quick answers
The airport is about 35 kilometres from the city and the drive from there takes 45–60 minutes; Bãi Dài lies on the same road, so from most hotels it is a little shorter. The exact time depends on the hotel.
The gentle entry and fine sand suit children, and the resorts have their own facilities. But the shore is open to the waves: in autumn and winter swimming with toddlers is less predictable here than in the city bay.
Yes, between the resorts there are public sections with simple cafés. Find the accesses on a map in advance: hotel grounds are closed to outsiders.
Yes, if the goal is the hotel and the sea. For trips you will need a taxi, the hotel transfer or a bus towards the city and the airport.
From February to August: little rain and a calm sea. From mid-September to mid-December the rainy season runs, and a holiday on an open shore largely loses its point.
